Training in Korea

As part of the Seoul-Melbourne International Collaboration in Mental Health, the Australia-Korea Foundation provided support for a large mental health education exchange program between Asia-Australia Mental Health and our Seoul partners. The program so far has consisted of both in-country training workshops and week long study visits to Melbourne.

Three training workshops facilitated by Asia-Australia Mental Health were held in Seoul in November 2006 and April 2007. Two of the workshops were targeted primarily at mental health workers and administrators and focused upon case management and mental health leadership skills. The third workshop targeted Seoul government officials and concentrated on mental health promotion and literacy.

Since the program began, AAMH and North Western Mental Health have hosted one delegation of Seoul government officials and mental health leaders (May 2006) and two delegations of mental health clinicians (October 2006, October 2007). A further delegation of clinicians is due to visit in late 2008.
